Tina Sharkey builds brands and businesses that bring value to consumers around the world. She is passionate about the consumer internet, mobile technology and digital media as forces of social and commercial good.
Tina has more than 20 years of experience in the evolution of new media, from the introduction of HDTV to the mass market adoption of the web and mobile platforms. Previously, Tina was Chairman and Global President of BabyCenter LLC for Johnson & Johnson, where she built the #1 global parenting and pregnancy destination, reaching 27 million unique visitors each month across 22 markets worldwide. In 2011, Tina led Johnson & Johnson’s initiative with the U.S. State Department and the United Nations Foundation for the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Health (MAMA).
Prior to joining BabyCenter, Tina worked at Time Warner, where she led AOL’s programming and social media initiatives. Before AOL, she co-founded iVillage, built Sesame Street online, and helped create a new home shopping channel for QVC.
Tina advises both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups. She been featured by the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Advertising Age and Fast Company, which named her one of the “Most Influential Women in Technology” She is also a regular contributor to Huffington Post and Forbes Magazine online, where she writes about consumer insights. Tina served on the executive committee of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), and speaks at events and conferences worldwide on digital marketing innovations. Stanford’s Graduate School of Business published a case study on Tina’s innovations in social branding.
Tina is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a founding board member of Baby Buggy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping New York City’s families in need.
