In the Distance (Hydroquinone Crystals)

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Carol Roullard has been an avid photographer since high school, where she first experimented with black-and-white composition. More recently she has expanded her nature photography to include the microscopic world. Using a high-powered microscope, Carol discovered an extraordinary, intricate world – a world of dazzling tiny crystals.

Carol searches for unique, complex micro-crystal scenes that will intrigue and invoke conversation. Many of the captured images mimic land and seascapes; others will permit the viewer’s imagination to interpret the image. She has co-authored seven camera-related books and is currently working on her eighth and ninth books.
