Selfies aren’t the only way to give the Internet world a snapshot into the innermost parts of your soul. Here are 4 wordsmiths who have turned their Instagram feeds into a virtual stage of poetry, serving up all the #nofilter feels you’d hope to find outside the (square) box). Check out the outstanding stanzas and prepare to double tap for days.
Beau Taplin: The Melbourne-based poet writes about love, loss and everything in between. With book titles like Playing with Fire and The Wild Heart, his bite-sized stanzas are sure to tug at your heartstrings.
Lang Leav: The acclaimed author, artist, and designer is the pen behind international best-sellers Love & Misadventures and Lullabies and Memories. Her whimsical, and at times, Plath-like verses are known to devastate (in a good way).
Silvi Alcivar: She’s the 21st century’s answer to the traveling bard. The poet/performance artist can be spotted all about Instagram and San Francisco with her vintage typewriter, offering “poetry on demand” to anyone with a sentiment and a desire for it to be expressed in three minutes or less.
Ari Eastman: A spoken word powerhouse, she speaks to everything from love and body positivity to sharks and how much she loves her mom. You can catch snippets of her written word on Instagram, and whole performances on her YouTube channel I’ve Got a Theory.
